Principal Field Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the product quality liaison between plant quality teams and functions such as Service, Product Management, and Operations
• Own and analyze Service Call (SCR) data to provide visibility into customer issues and prevent future quality defects
• Track and communicate product performance in the field, including warranty, damage, and insurance metrics
• Facilitate communication of customer concerns and trends to all functions, including the shop floor
• Analyze SCR and Cost of Quality (COQ) data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
• Manage Quality Holds from issuance to resolution and coordinate efficient rework procedures
• Develop and maintain case-based reasoning for "Save the Call" performance and customer education content
• Serve as a key liaison between the factory, Field Service Technicians, and Customer Relations

Requirements

• BS Technical degree or comparable experience
• 7+ years of recent experience in high-volume manufacturing, operations, or a quality role
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and advanced computer skills
• Detailed knowledge of SAS warranty analytics tools
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and project management experience
• Proven ability to influence change and communicate effectively across cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Quality leadership experience
• Knowledge of ISO9001-2015 certification
• Experience and training in lean manufacturing practices
• Experience with highly automated appliance or automotive manufacturing processes
