Principal Faculty - Pharmacology

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the Didactic Phase pharmacology curriculum
• Serve as Course Director for pharmacology courses, including designing and revising syllabi
• Provide student instruction and evaluate performance through various assessment formats
• Provide academic counseling and remedial instruction for students
• Update course content to reflect new FDA drug approvals, black-box warnings, and clinical practice guidelines
• Develop and validate assessments that measure clinical reasoning and safe prescribing habits
• Participate in program committees, including Admissions, Curriculum, and Student Progress
• Assist in preparing documentation for accreditation bodies such as ARC-PA and SACSCOC
• Engage in scholarly activities, including original research and peer-reviewed publications

Requirements

• Doctoral degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
• Minimum of 2 years of full-time clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist
• Current Florida pharmacist licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Excellent oral, written, organizational, and computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching experience in a Physician Assistant or other health profession program
