Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for enterprise collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams (Collaboration & Voice), Live Events, Microsoft Townhall, and Zoom.
• Lead platform architecture, engineering standards, security, and large-scale adoption strategies across the enterprise.
• Drive the design and governance of Teams Voice capabilities, including PSTN integration, Direct Routing, SBC architecture, and emergency calling.
• Partner with Information Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure platforms meet regulatory, data privacy, and eDiscovery requirements.
• Lead resilience, disaster recovery, and operational readiness efforts aligned with enterprise standards.
• Drive automation and engineering efficiency for provisioning and lifecycle management using APIs and PowerShell.
• Serve as a mentor and technical leader to senior engineers and architects, fostering engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering, architecture, or platform leadership experience.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Teams Collaboration and Microsoft Teams Voice within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with enterprise conferencing platforms, specifically Zoom.
• In-depth knowledge of real-time communications, networking, identity, and security.
• Advanced expertise in Teams Voice architectures, including Direct Routing and SBC design.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Graph API.
• Proven ability to influence senior leadership and provide strategic technical guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting collaboration platforms in highly regulated industries, such as financial services.
• Experience operating at a Principal Engineer or Architect level within a large enterprise (50,000+ users).
• Experience designing and supporting executive broadcast solutions like Live Events and Town Halls.
