Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the modernization of core banking transaction processing platforms by driving architecture and solution design for cloud-native systems.
• Act as a technical authority and advisor to leadership to influence web technologies, information security, and database strategies.
• Develop long-term, large-scale technical solutions that address complex business challenges across the enterprise.
• Drive engineering best practices to ensure high availability, performance, risk mitigation, and cost efficiency.
• Translate strategic business objectives into technical engineering solutions and provide vision for innovative business implementations.
• Maintain industry knowledge to recommend innovations that provide a competitive advantage.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional Engineering experience.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, and messaging frameworks such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps concepts, and SRE principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Engineering (B.E/B Tech) or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a Principal or Staff Engineer role.
• Proven track record of modernizing heritage systems using Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with cloud service offerings, automation, and orchestration.
• Expertise in database migration (Relational to NoSQL/Polyglot persistence).
• Hands-on knowledge of AI/ML tools and GenAI coding assistants.
• Experience in highly regulated environments such as Financial Services or Payments.
• Proficiency with observability tools like Elastic, Kibana, Grafana, or Splunk.
