Principal Engineer - Vertical Transportation

Responsibilities

• Develop vertical transportation design concepts, including calculating the number, size, and speed of lifts for various building types.
• Produce efficient VT solutions and technical reports to illustrate designs to clients and representatives.
• Utilize lift traffic design software (Elevate), CAD, BIM, and Revit to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with project design teams, VT suppliers, and specialist subcontractors to ensure design implementation.
• Liaise with Local Authority Departments and stakeholders to obtain necessary project approvals.
• Coordinate with other discipline engineers, including Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical teams.
• Participate in design review meetings, workshops, and client presentations.

Requirements

• Degree in lift and escalator engineering or electrical/mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in vertical transportation consultancy or design.
• Expertise in lift traffic simulation and the use of Elevate software.
• Proficiency in CAD, BIM, and Revit.
• Full conversance with the EN 81 suite of codes and working knowledge of ASME series codes.
• Strong understanding of local Middle East building codes and regulations.
• Excellent written and spoken English with effective client communication skills.
