Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide experienced technical leadership and mentorship across complex systems and solutions within a highly agile engineering environment.
• Guide and mentor cross-functional teams in the execution of strategically significant and high-visibility projects.
• Translate contractual, customer, and qualification requirements into clear technical direction.
• Assist in the development of part family qualification processes.
• Support leadership in generating proposals, ROMs, and technical quotes for government and commercial programs.
• Drive product development process improvement initiatives and conduct root cause analysis to reduce risk and ensure compliance.

Requirements

• BS degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• 20+ years of experience in engineering roles.
• 15+ years of experience in product development.
• Proven experience leading FMEA and risk analysis.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis and performing corrective actions.
• Experience working within government contracting environments.
• Experience reviewing FEA analysis simulation results and interrogating outcomes.
• Practical experience in reverse-engineering products or projects.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., casting, forging, CNC machining, injection molding).
• US Citizenship is required due to federal research contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Additive Manufacturing.
• Experience working in ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified facilities.
• Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.
