Principal Engineer - Testing and Configuration

Responsibilities

• Oversee the integration of various subsystems into the Dismounted Soldier System (DSS) to ensure compatibility and adherence to specifications
• Lead the development and execution of test plans for system-level, integration, and field testing
• Conduct system validation and verification (V&V) to ensure all subsystems meet performance requirements and functional specifications
• Coordinate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless component interoperability
• Troubleshoot system issues and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve faults in a timely manner
• Implement and maintain configuration control for all system components using configuration management tools
• Prepare technical documentation, including test reports, integration plans, and change request forms
• Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders regarding integration progress and test results

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• PMP certification or equivalent
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in system engineering, specifically in integration, testing, and configuration management
• Proven experience in Dismounted Soldier Systems, military systems integration, or combat systems
• Expertise in test planning, execution, and reporting
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and performance tuning
• Knowledge of software configuration management systems and integration tools
• Familiarity with military specifications and standards related to soldier systems
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
