Principal Engineer, Test

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to implement effective test techniques that meet product quality, timeliness, and regulatory compliance goals.
• Partner with development teams and stakeholders to ensure product testability.
• Plan test development and execution, including effort estimation and requirement analysis.
• Create and execute manual and automated tests, including feature development, exploratory, regression, and build acceptance testing.
• Identify and implement tooling, frameworks, and dashboards for automated testing across Web, App, and Device platforms.
• Define and implement formal and informal Verification and Validation (V&V) processes.
• Identify defects, triage issues, determine root causes, and track issues to completion.
• Create comprehensive test plans, suites, protocols, and reports aligned with process requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 13+ years of proven experience as a Software System Test and Verification Engineer in a product development environment.
• Extensive experience with Test Planning, Test Case Creation, execution, and documentation.
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and web, API, or system testing.
• Proven track record of bringing customer-facing products to market.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the medical device industry or other highly regulated sectors.
• Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) or Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Robot, Pytest, Selenium, Cucumber, JEST, or TestCafe.
• Experience with C, C++, or LabView.
• Experience with test deployment using Azure DevOps.
