Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and contribute to the technical strategy for the CollegePads product
• Guide and lead the team in the execution of the technical roadmap
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve major technical blockers
• Establish and champion high standards for code quality and up-skill fellow engineers
• Define clear goals and objectives for systems and create execution plans
• Influence and spearhead design efforts for robust solutions
• Review technical solutions and provide constructive feedback
• Mentor and guide Technical Leads and Software Engineers
• Lead complex, cross-departmental projects from conception to completion
• Collaborate with Technical Leads to embed technical strategy across engineering teams
• Tackle and solve intricate technical problems to improve delivery efficiency

Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of software engineering experience
• Substantial experience in system architecture, design, Platforms, Data solutions, and distributed systems
• Expertise in modernizing and uplifting legacy systems
• Ability to communicate complex technical and architectural problems clearly
• Deep expertise in architecting and developing solutions across diverse technology stacks, including backend systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science or Engineering
• Professional certifications in cloud architecture (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Expertise in data analytics, machine learning, real-time communication, or FinTech/PropTech
• Experience driving technological innovation through R&D or patents
• Experience implementing long-term technical vision across large organizations
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
