Principal Engineer, Software (Enterprise Platform)

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve core identity systems including organizations, groups, roles, SCIM provisioning, and fine-grained authorization
• Design tenant-aware schemas, metadata systems, and platform primitives for heterogeneous scientific data
• Architect systems for tenant provisioning, usage metering, billing, data migrations, and compliance workflows
• Drive architectural decisions around scalability, reliability, and operational correctness
• Act as a senior technical leader across platform engineering, infrastructure, security, and AI/ML teams

Requirements

• 12+ years of software development experience with a focus on Enterprise SaaS
• Deep expertise in authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML), multi-tenancy, RBAC, and billing/metering
• Experience with cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS/GCP) and event-driven systems
• Hands-on coding proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks like FastAPI
• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience with agentic systems and workflow automation in regulated environments
• Experience with scientific or laboratory data systems (LIMS, ELN, bioinformatics)
• Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, GxP, or FedRAMP
• Experience operating multi-tenant SaaS systems at significant scale
