Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define and own the architectural vision for the SiS platform spanning the SPCS container runtime, warehouse runtime, embedding SDK, and developer tooling
• Drive the platform's evolution toward next-generation capabilities and shape architectural direction for new developments
• Serve as the primary technical representative for SiS in company-wide architecture forums
• Establish engineering standards for performance, reliability, and scale to ensure high availability and fast startup times
• Lead technical design and review processes for high-stakes, cross-functional initiatives
• Act as a hands-on contributor by authoring specs, implementing changes, and reviewing PRs
• Mentor senior engineers and identify the next generation of technical leaders
• Partner with Product and Design to translate customer needs into robust engineering solutions

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience architecting and shipping production-grade developer platforms or application runtimes
• Strong expertise in Python application runtimes, server-side frameworks, and distributed execution environments
• Deep understanding of container-based execution environments such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience designing developer-facing SDKs, embedding APIs, or component libraries
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical programs across multiple teams and organizational boundaries
• Experience with enterprise SaaS reliability requirements including multi-tenancy and security

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the open-source Streamlit framework or similar Python-based app frameworks
• Experience with IdP integrations, OAuth flows, or authentication systems
• Familiarity with the web platform including TypeScript, JavaScript, WebSockets, and iframe security models
