Principal Engineer - Mechanical Design and Specification

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical integration of complex missile platforms featuring rocket, turbojet, and turbofan propulsion
• Lead structural, thermal, and modal simulations across the entire product lifecycle
• Guide design validation through wind tunnel testing, static firing, and vibration testing
• Approve engineering change proposals and maintain strict configuration control
• Mentor junior engineers and drive technical maturity across the engineering team
• Deliver mechanical CAD architecture, engine mounting specifications, and thermal shielding plans

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in aerospace or defense mechanical engineering
• Proven expertise in missile or propulsion system design
• Mastery of CAD, PDM, and FEA tools such as ANSYS or ABAQUS
• Deep knowledge of MIL-STD-1760, AS9100, and environmental qualification testing
• MSc or PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
• Expertise in CFD for pressure and thermal flow modeling
• Experience with multi-propulsion integration including glide, rocket, and turbojet systems
