Principal Engineer (Manufacturing) - Mechanical

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 5-10 manufacturing engineers on various programs and projects
• Create detailed work instructions and engineering documentation for production and testing
• Manage work instructions for fabricating, installing, or modifying mechanical systems and structures
• Act as a Manufacturing Engineering liaison to troubleshoot documentation and provide real-time shop floor support
• Develop test plans, procedures, and support hypersonic vehicle integrated testing
• Source and support purchase activities for mechanical and system components
• Analyze engineering requirements to estimate fabrication time, cost, and producibility

Requirements

• 20-25 years of experience plus a B.S. in Engineering, or 25+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience with aerospace production documentation, drawings, and work orders
• Experience with PDM systems and engineering revision control processes
• Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft payload mechanical systems
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering, systems, or launch vehicle integration
• Hands-on experience with aircraft electrical systems and payload installation
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Security clearance
• Experience with Siemens Capital or Mentor Graphics
• 3D CAD modeling experience in NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks
• Proficiency with LabVIEW
• Familiarity with Jira
