About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 5-10 Manufacturing Engineers to support various programs and projects.
- Assign scope based on programmatic demand and team skill sets.
- Create and manage detailed work instructions for the fabrication, installation, and modification of mechanical systems and structures.
- Develop drawings and work instructions for tooling to support production build phases.
- Act as a Manufacturing Engineering liaison on the shop floor to troubleshoot documentation and provide real-time technical support.
- Support mechanical and system design efforts, including the integration of complex aerospace systems.
- Develop test plans and procedures for electrical, avionics, and hypersonic vehicle integrated testing.
- Analyze engineering requirements to estimate fabrication time and ensure producibility within cost and schedule margins.
Requirements
- 20-25 years of experience in engineering, or 25+ years of relevant experience in an engineering discipline.
- B.S. degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Extensive experience with aerospace production documentation, including drawings and work orders.
- Proven experience with PDM systems and engineering control/revision control release processes.
- Strong background in mechanical manufacturing build, testing, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Proficiency with 3D CAD and integrating models into 2D environments.
- Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft payload mechanical/systems and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with aircraft electrical system and payload installation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling software such as NX, CATIA, or Solidworks.
- Familiarity with Siemens Capital or Mentor Graphics.
- Experience with LabVIEW and configuration management systems like Jira.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
