Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Agree technical requirements of the client remit and lead the development of fee proposals
• Organise and lead the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff within the design team
• Ensure technical compliance of designs and adherence to legal requirements including CDM Regulations
• Oversee production of design deliverables such as calculations, drawings, reports, and risk assessments
• Identify and implement value engineering opportunities
• Manage financial and commercial aspects of projects, monitoring progress against budget and programme
• Provide leadership to direct and indirect reports, including conducting performance reviews and managing workloads
• Promote best practices and a culture of excellence within Kier Design
• Maintain professional development and stay abreast of industry developments in sustainability and innovation

Requirements

• Chartered member of relevant professional institutions (e.g. CEng MICE)
• Significant relevant industry experience at a similar level
• Proven experience in designing temporary works
