About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of Reddit’s iOS Mobile App to scale for 100M+ DAUs
- Lead redesign of the iOS platform to improve modularity, performance, and quality
- Define and execute key user-facing performance goals including ANR rate, launch time, and frame rates
- Improve observability and telemetry for key performance areas
- Drive a company-wide culture of performance and mentor iOS developers
- Act as the primary architect and technical expert for complex iOS development challenges
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of experience designing and developing iOS applications
- Experience influencing large organizations (200+ engineers) on technical direction
- Proficiency with modern iOS frameworks like SwiftUI and structured Concurrency
- Deep understanding of building mobile applications at scale
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent technical expertise

- Experience working with cross-functional teams including design, product, and data
- Strategic thinking regarding long-term technical foundations
