Principal Engineer, Investment Systems

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software programs, databases, and processes associated with core business environments
• Support a broad range of applications in research, investments, front office, and trading
• Work on an engineering team to design and develop applications to support business units
• Assume responsibility for ongoing maintenance of existing core business applications
• Collaborate with IT and various business units across the firm
• Interact directly with end users to provide analytical and technical support

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in computer science or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in software development
• 5+ years of experience in financial management or services
• Significant experience with Python and associated technologies
• Significant experience with relational databases and SQL
• Solid knowledge of modern software design principles, concepts, and practices
• Experience with cloud-based development (AWS preferred)
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of C# / Microsoft stack
• Experience leading a technical team
