About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the execution of new control surfaces hardware design from critical design phase through production
- Work with multi-disciplinary groups to define requirements, statements of work, and verification plans
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems, Software, Test Equipment, and Production Test Engineering
- Interface with Program Managers and Chief Engineers to ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and resource requirements
- Oversee design, development, and systems integration activities to support transition to production (TTP)
- Manage risk identification, mitigation strategies, and resolution of technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to foster a high-performing environment
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding project status and risks
- Support proposal development and planning for future production contract initiatives
- Attend and approve system changes via Change Control Boards (CCBs)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary groups for complete system delivery
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Certification
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance (required on day 1)
- U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with prime hardware design
- Knowledge of equipment rack assembly, cable assembly/installation, and electronics maintenance
- Experience guiding teams through complex troubleshooting processes
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), DOORS, or Agile development methodologies
