Principal Engineer, Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build, and ongoing optimization of the production AWS infrastructure serving all Manifest brands
• Define architectural standards and guardrails to enable product team autonomy
• Ensure platform compliance with student data residency, GDPR, and global access control obligations
• Drive the infrastructure roadmap in partnership with engineering leads across the portfolio
• Build automation for self-healing systems and observability (metrics, logging, alerting)
• Manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Own CI/CD pipelines to reduce friction between code writing and shipping
• Develop self-service tooling to allow developers to provision and operate infrastructure independently

Requirements

• Extensive experience building and maintaining production cloud infrastructure at scale on AWS
• Deep expertise in containers, including Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS
• Advanced proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and automation
• Proven ability to communicate complex architectural decisions to diverse engineering teams
• Experience managing compliance and data residency requirements in global environments
