About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the development of electronic systems for next-generation atomic clocks
- Liaise with Software and Mechanical Design Teams to ensure robust and producible product designs
- Guide and mentor a focused group of electrical engineers on best practices for new product development and sustaining engineering
- Develop and execute test and qualification plans for engineering prototypes
- Design and capture schematics using CAD suites and collaborate with layout designers
- Manage electrical designs in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, including creating bills of material and engineering change orders
- Provide troubleshooting support to production for new and existing products
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience in hardware design
- Complete understanding of analog designs, such as active filters and control loops
- Strong knowledge of Mixed Signal circuits and Data Converters
- Knowledge of the physical layer of digital interfaces including USB, SPI, and I2C
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and product specifications
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and interface with management in a corporate setting
- US citizenship or permanent residency is required due to export control regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with component selection for space applications with radiation requirements
- Experience with Programmable Logic (FPGA/CPLD) and HDL (VHDL/Verilog) design
- Knowledge of RF and Microwave synthesis
- Experience with crystal oscillator design
- Familiarity with Agile PLM tools
