About the role
Responsibilities
- Set vehicle architecture across mechanical and electrical disciplines, including retrofit kits and integrated platforms.
- Own integration points for sensor mounts, compute enclosures, wiring harnesses, and power distribution.
- Drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM) rigor to enable high-volume production.
- Lead the development of safety-critical drive-by-wire systems and redundancy architectures.
- Manage sensor suite design, compute hardening, and vehicle BOM standardization.
- Select and manage technical relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Requirements
- 15+ years of hands-on hardware engineering experience with shipped physical products.
- Dual depth in both mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.
- Proven track record of taking products from architecture through DFM to volume production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with functional-safety standards such as ISO 26262 or ISO 13849.
- Direct experience designing or qualifying certified drive-by-wire systems.
- Background in commercial vehicles, industrial robotics, or aerospace ground systems.
