Principal Engineer - Gen AI and Data Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of Generative AI and Data Engineering initiatives within the HR IT organization
• Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership to influence technology decisions and long-term engineering strategies
• Drive the strategy, adoption, and governance of AI/GenAI capabilities, ensuring responsible and scalable solutions
• Oversee the architecture and delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient data engineering solutions across the HR ecosystem
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers and architects to raise organizational technical maturity
• Translate business objectives into technical engineering solutions, focusing on productivity and risk improvement

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building AI/GenAI solutions, including LLM integration and RAG patterns
• Extensive experience with GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Spark
• Proven expertise in microservices architecture and cloud-native engineering (containerization, CI/CD, DevSecOps)
• Experience designing production-grade AI architectures, including model orchestration and agentic AI platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience modernizing data platforms and migrating legacy ecosystems to cloud-native lakehouse architectures
• Demonstrated ability to define reference architectures and engineering standards at an enterprise scale
• Knowledge of orchestration frameworks, vector databases, and human-in-the-loop controls for AI workflows
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise platforms like Workday or ServiceNow
