Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Shape technical strategy through hands-on involvement in product discovery, prototyping, and planning
• Design pragmatic, cloud-native architectures focused on simplicity, reuse, testability, and performance
• Lead data-oriented architectural design, defining how data is produced, owned, and transformed
• Validate architectural decisions through spikes and proofs of concept in collaboration with engineering teams
• Champion the adoption of AI and agentic capabilities within engineering workflows
• Mentor engineers and technical leaders to empower sound architectural decision-making
• Continuously improve engineering quality, developer experience, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Technical Lead or Technical Architect
• Experience in transactional domains such as bookings, payments, or e-commerce
• Strong expertise in designing and delivering cloud-native applications at global scale
• Proficiency with Node.js, Kubernetes, and AWS services (EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Deep knowledge of architecture styles including SOA and microservices
• Experience with CI/CD, observability tools (Splunk, Kibana, New Relic), and production support
• Understanding of PCI and GDPR compliance requirements
• Proven ability to partner with and influence senior business stakeholders
