About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and develop security features for enterprise SSDs to protect against evolving cybersecurity threats
- Architect and implement cryptography-based solutions including Root of Trust, Secure Boot, Device Attestation, and Self-Encrypting Devices (SED)
- Lead the transition to post-quantum cryptography algorithms such as LMS, ML-DSA, and ML-KEM
- Implement security protocols aligned with OCP, TCG, NVMe, and PCIe specifications
- Debug security firmware on SoC, FPGA, and simulation platforms using JTAG, memory dumps, and bus analyzers
- Drive the Security Development Lifecycle, including threat modeling, security code review, fuzz testing, and FIPS certification support
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and product teams to ensure security requirements are met from design through production
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, Cyber Security, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in security firmware development
- Hands-on experience with applied cryptography (AES-XTS, Root of Trust, Secure Boot, Key Management, and PKI)
- Expertise in post-quantum cryptography (LMS, ML-DSA, ML-KEM) and its embedded system constraints
- Knowledge of enterprise storage security standards including PCIe, NVMe, OCP, and TCG
- Proficiency in C and Python for firmware development
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a related engineering or security field
- Experience with Rust for firmware development
- Experience debugging firmware on SoC and FPGA platforms
- Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tools for coding and testing
- Technical leadership experience in security firmware architecture
- Experience with Caliptra Root of Trust and OCP L.O.C.K. integration
