Principal Engineer - Data Engineering - Gen AI

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the architectural vision for Credit Risk Technology, ensuring security, resilience, and scalability at a global scale.
• Act as a technical advisor to leadership, translating strategic business objectives into complex engineering solutions.
• Lead the design and implementation of Gen AI, Agentic automation, and LLM-based solutions (RAG, agents, fine-tuning).
• Define and own end-to-end architectural blueprints, reference designs, and standards across software, hardware, and cloud platforms.
• Mentor and coach engineers across the organization to raise the bar for technical excellence and engineering velocity.
• Partner with Product Management to translate user needs and pain points into robust engineering requirements.
• Establish and enforce best practices for SDLC, code quality, API design, and system integration.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional Engineering experience.
• Proven expertise in data platform architecture and cloud-scale distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Scala, or SQL.
• Experience designing and implementing AI/LLM solutions.
• Experience building and maintaining microservices using Spring Boot.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of security, governance, and enterprise AI controls.
• Experience with applications modernization and rationalization.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience driving technical vision and execution in a high-impact global role.
