Principal Engineer - Camera

Responsibilities

• Act as a Senior Technical Lead for multimedia and camera systems, driving architecture and design decisions for complex systems.
• Provide end-to-end ownership of features across the full product lifecycle, including pre-silicon enablement, bring-up, and commercialization.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams of 10+ engineers, including task planning, technical guidance, and design reviews.
• Drive Linux kernel driver development with a deep understanding of kernel internals and device drivers.
• Contribute to the upstream Linux kernel, specifically within the camera and multimedia subsystems.
• Work directly with customers to understand requirements, debug critical issues, and drive solutions to closure.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience in Linux kernel driver development.
• Proven track record of upstream Linux kernel contributions.
• Deep expertise in open-source multimedia architectures such as V4L2, Media Controller, or libcamera.
• Proficiency in programming languages including C, C++, or Python.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience within the camera domain.
• Experience working within the IoT segment.
• Active participation in open-source community discussions.
