Principal Engineer - CAD

Responsibilities

• Implement automation and flows for custom integrated circuit design by developing utilities and maintaining Process Design Kits (PDKs)
• Develop and maintain automation utilities using Cadence SKILL and Linux scripting languages
• Provide user support for PDKs and design capture/layout tools to worldwide design centers and technical contractors
• Deliver user training both in person and online, and maintain web documentation
• Contribute to methodology development to improve design productivity, including flow automation and environment configuration
• Collaborate with design and technology development teams to develop in-house PDKs and customize external foundry PDKs
• Create scripts to ensure compatibility and integration of simulation, physical verification, and parasitic extraction collateral

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience with analog or mixed-signal IC design, including schematic entry, simulation, layout, and verification
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, SKILL, Perl, Bash, or Tcl/Tk
• Familiarity with EDA tools used in IC design
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to balance customer support requests with development tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Design Data Management software
• Experience with automation of Cadence IC tools and SKILL language programming
