Principal Engineer, ASIC Verification & Validation Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead project bring-up and diagnostics, owning the initial setup and stabilization of emulation and prototyping platforms.
• Triage and debug complex system-level failures across hardware, FPGA/emulator configurations, and early boot-code boundaries.
• Partner with product firmware engineers to unblock development pipelines and abstract hardware complexities.
• Develop automation, monitoring scripts, and health-check reporting to maximize the reliability and throughput of the emulation farm.
• Document debug methodologies and build standardized playbooks for platform setup and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 8–15 years of experience in pre-silicon development, hardware verification, or platform bring-up.
• Proven experience with FPGA prototyping platforms (e.g., Synopsys HAPS).
• Proficiency in Python scripting for tool development and automated testing.
• Knowledge of hardware emulation architectures (e.g., Cadence Palladium, Synopsys ZeBu).
• Familiarity with Verilog/SystemVerilog and the firmware development lifecycle.
• Strong system-level debugging skills using JTAG, protocol analyzers, and logic analyzers.
• Functional understanding of UNIX/Linux and Windows systems administration.
