Principal Engineer, ASIC Development Engineering (SoC Validation)

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, architecting, and execution of end-to-end SoC validation flows and strategies.
• Define SoC-level sign-off criteria including functional, performance, power, stress, and PVT coverage.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, reviewing test plans and debug approaches.
• Drive pre-silicon and post-silicon bring-up, including board initialization, power-on sequences, and processor boot.
• Develop firmware, bare-metal tests, and Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL) to enable datapath and SoC-level validation.
• Build and maintain validation infrastructure, including regression automation and lab equipment integration.
• Debug complex SoC issues across digital logic, firmware, and timing domains using JTAG, trace, and waveform capture.
• Run complex validation scenarios on emulation platforms like Palladium to accelerate pre-silicon coverage.

Requirements

• BE or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 9–13 years of experience in SoC pre-silicon and post-silicon validation and bring-up.
• Proficiency in C and embedded programming with a deep understanding of hardware/software co-validation.
• Strong understanding of SoC verification environments, SystemVerilog (SV), and UVM concepts.
• Extensive experience with PCIe and DDR/LPDDR protocols.
• Solid knowledge of bus protocols including AXI, AHB, and APB.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, or Bash for automation.
