Principal Engineer - Applications

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical expert for embedded wireless controllers, SoCs, software frameworks, and SDKs.
• Provide advanced technical support to global customers, field application engineers, and sales teams.
• Lead the design, development, and validation of demo applications, reference designs, and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Drive customer design-ins and design-wins through technical demonstrations and application notes.
• Collaborate with internal software, firmware, and silicon teams to optimize product features.
• Lead complex system-level debugging involving firmware, wireless protocol stacks, and hardware interfaces.
• Create high-quality technical resources including user guides, training presentations, and instructional videos.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on embedded software development and debugging methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Expert-level programming experience in C and C++ for embedded systems.
• Extensive experience in embedded software and firmware development (bare-metal and framework-based).
• Deep knowledge of wireless protocol stacks, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, and IEEE 802.15.4.
• Experience with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or Linux-based embedded systems.
• Proficiency with communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and USB.
• Strong system-level debugging skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF equipment.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills for customer-facing engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting global customers in the semiconductor or wireless connectivity industry.
• Experience with wireless certification, interoperability testing, or RF validation.
• Knowledge of secure embedded systems, bootloaders, and OTA firmware updates.
• Proficiency using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) to improve engineering productivity.
