Principal Engineer-Applications

Responsibilities

• Lead customer platform enablement for Switchtec PCIe switch products, supporting hyperscale AI and storage customers from board bring-up through production.
• Partner with global OEMs and hyperscale customers to define technical requirements and manage deliverables.
• Provide advanced technical support by driving platform-level debug and resolving complex system issues.
• Develop high-quality technical collateral, including hardware guides, reference designs, firmware updates, and software tools.
• Deliver technical training and presentations to internal field teams and customer engineering groups.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, and product management teams.
• Travel to customer sites (up to 25%) to support deployments and ensure successful product integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Working knowledge of PCI Express (PCIe) protocols.
• Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
• Experience developing test scripts using Perl, Bash, or Python.
• Experience with UNIX and Windows driver development.
• Experience with RTOS platforms such as ThreadX, VxWorks, or eCos.
• Hands-on experience with protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, and other bench-top diagnostic equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the storage industry.
• Hands-on experience with RISC-based embedded processors, preferably MIPS.
• Strong debugging capabilities using kernel-level tools (e.g., WinDbg), JTAG, and serial interfaces.
• Comprehensive understanding of server and storage architectures and I/O interfaces.
