Principal Engineer, AI Security

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy for securing AI usage across the enterprise
• Implement security controls and guardrails for LLM APIs, SaaS AI platforms, and internal services
• Design and implement AI gateway controls to manage access to internal and external AI systems
• Conduct red teaming and adversarial testing including prompt injection and data exfiltration
• Develop controls to prevent sensitive data leakage through AI systems
• Integrate AI security into network, endpoint, and data layers
• Perform AI threat modeling for risks like model misuse and supply chain vulnerabilities
• Assess and guide the secure adoption of third-party AI vendors
• Support incident response for AI-related security events
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, and IT to align AI usage with regulatory requirements

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in information security
• Expertise in enterprise, cloud, or application security
• Hands-on experience designing security controls in enterprise environments
• Familiarity with AI/ML systems and modern AI tools like LLMs and APIs
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and zero trust architectures
• Experience with data protection technologies such as DLP and data classification
• Practical experience with threat modeling or red teaming
• Strong communication and influence skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience securing enterprise use of generative AI platforms
• Familiarity with AI gateways and prompt filtering
• Background in regulated environments like biotech or healthcare
• Knowledge of privacy-enhancing technologies or confidential computing
