Principal Engineer, AI & Data Platform

Responsibilities

• Design and own the enterprise knowledge layer, including governed semantic models, ontologies, and knowledge graph structures.
• Lead the strategy and delivery of natural-language interfaces and conversational analytics for business stakeholders.
• Architect the infrastructure for agentic data platforms, enabling AI agents to discover, reason over, and act on enterprise data.
• Drive adoption of advanced data infrastructure such as graph databases, knowledge bases, and hybrid query engines.
• Partner with domain stakeholders across trading, compliance, and market intelligence to ensure data platform utility.
• Establish evaluation frameworks to ensure the groundedness, factual consistency, and reliability of AI systems.
• Provide technical leadership through architectural direction, mentorship, and driving build-vs-buy decisions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or AI platform roles.
• Proven experience building and operating enterprise-scale data platforms in production.
• Deep expertise in conversational analytics and building natural-language query systems over structured data.
• Hands-on experience with graph databases, knowledge graphs, or ontology-driven data architectures.
• Experience with agentic AI systems, including tool-use patterns and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Strong experience with GCP (BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataplex/Knowledge Catalog).
• Proficiency in at least three of the following: Graph databases (Neo4j, BigQuery Graph), GraphRAG, Semantic layers (dbt, Looker), Vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant), or MCP (Model Context Protocol).
• Strong engineering rigor with experience in CI/CD for data/ML pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services, fintech, or cryptocurrency.
• Background in data mesh or domain-oriented data ownership models.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud’s Agentic Data Cloud capabilities.
• Experience with dbt for large-scale transformation and data modeling.
• Experience operating in compliance-sensitive or highly regulated environments.
