Principal Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration of the networking device software stack
• Develop firmware that configures, controls, and monitors communication devices
• Design and implement device drivers to enable user applications and operating systems to leverage hardware
• Develop and implement automated unit and system tests
• Contribute to firmware development for safety-critical automotive applications adhering to functional safety standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software, or a related field
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in embedded software development
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming
• Extensive experience with firmware, preferably for communication devices like Ethernet
• Strong experience with embedded systems and hardware interaction
• Expertise in efficient code practices for performance and footprint optimization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python
• Knowledge of simulation and emulation platforms
• Experience with hardware buses like I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and USB
• Familiarity with automotive safety standards like MISRA, ASPICE, and ISO26262
• Understanding of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, PCIe, and Serdes
• Experience with ARM family of processors or similar embedded processors
