Responsibilities

  • Implement embedded software solutions for client projects from ideation through production
  • Act as a player-coach, mentoring product development teams and junior engineers
  • Provide technical leadership and expert guidance for embedded firmware solutions
  • Champion best practices in source code management, version control, DevOps, and automated testing
  • Conduct electrical characterization and debugging using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Contribute to new business opportunities and project scoping
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, and industrial designers

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in embedded firmware engineering
  • 10+ years of electronic product experience from concept through manufacturing
  • Expertise in C and C++ programming
  • Strong background in hardware/firmware interaction (actuators, motors, sensors)
  • Proficiency with microcontrollers and peripherals (UART, SPI, I2C, USB, GPIO, ADC, PWM)
  • Experience with embedded Linux runtimes (Raspbian, Yocto, Ubuntu) and RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr)
  • Experience with Git/Subversion and Jira
  • Proven ability to lead projects and use Agile methodologies
  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (FCC, UL) and medical device certification (ISO 13485, IEC 62304)
  • Experience with control algorithms and control theory
  • Experience programming in ROS or QT
