About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead circuit card and sub-level module development, product certification, and product sustainment throughout the design life cycle.
- Serve as the Certification Focal, owning the Plan for Hardware Aspects of Certification (PHAC) and hardware development/verification plans.
- Drive technical issue resolution, risk identification, and mitigation planning for computing platforms.
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams (EE, ME, FPGA, Systems, Manufacturing, Test) through development, integration, and formal design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR).
- Execute solutions with a product-line focus to maximize the reuse of lifecycle artifacts across future avionics solutions.
Requirements
- STEM degree and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and minimum 5 years of experience.
- Proven experience leading CCA design from concept through production, including schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
- Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal design principles and PCB layout constraints.
- Experience conducting and participating in formal design reviews such as SRR, PDR, and CDR.
- Familiarity with industry standards including IPC-2221, IPC-A-610, MIL-STD-461/810/704, or DO-160.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including task direction, mentoring, and coordinating development activities.
- Ability to interpret and decompose system-level requirements into hardware design requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of certification objectives (DO-254, AC 20-152A) and COTS Device Assessments.
- Knowledge of MPSoC-based architectures and board-level integration of heterogeneous processing elements.
- Experience with Design to Cost (DTC+), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Test (DFT).
- Experience establishing hardware reference architectures and developing scalable product-line solutions.
