Principal Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of electrical engineering for water and wastewater projects
• Work with Motor Control Centres, LV distribution systems, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs, and SCADA systems
• Provide design support and guidance to ensure all schemes are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards
• Act as a technical checker on project documents and undertake technical reviews across teams
• Manage the interfaces and integration of electrical designs with other engineering disciplines
• Collaborate with commercial, operational, and construction teams to develop practical and safe solutions
• Supervise and mentor graduates and junior engineers to support their professional development
• Conduct site reviews to ensure the buildability of solutions and successful integration with existing systems

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Chartered member of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) or equivalent professional experience
• Proven experience working on water, wastewater, or related infrastructure projects
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to various project sites
• Strong communication skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving
