About the role

About the Company

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed to provide critical power to hospitals, data centers, and remote sites.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own electrical and software integration requirements for power distribution, signal conditioning, and sensor mapping
  • Build out electrical test infrastructure for the Kaleidos microreactor unit
  • Establish communication between hardware, control systems, and software interfaces
  • Define electrical validation strategy, including test procedures and methodologies
  • Manage schedule, budget, and vendor management for electrical hardware activities
  • Optimize test and validation processes through tooling and automation
  • Lead design reviews and communicate technical decisions to cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with hardware design, integration, and test
  • Experience with DAQ and test systems (e.g., NI PXI, dSpace, Speedgoat)
  • Proficiency with LabVIEW and TestStand
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, C++, C#)
  • Strong electrical and software debugging and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with real-time simulation systems or FPGA-based hardware
  • Experience with controls fundamentals and software testing processes
  • Background in high-reliability, safety-critical, or regulated industries (aerospace, defense, nuclear, medical, or automotive)
