About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the development and support of industrial water treatment equipment.
- Partner with R&D and Product Management to translate concepts into manufacturable electrical and control designs.
- Develop and maintain electrical documentation packages, including schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
- Own electrical designs throughout the product lifecycle, including sustaining engineering, cost reduction, and obsolescence management.
- Lead hands-on troubleshooting during production builds and perform root cause analysis for corrective actions.
- Ensure all designs meet global safety regulations and standards, including NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CSA, IEC, and CE.
- Develop electrical standards, design guidelines, and reusable architectures to improve scalability and manufacturability.
- Coach and mentor engineers to build technical capability and improve team effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting industrial equipment or control panel design in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD tools, specifically AutoCAD Electrical.
- Extensive experience designing industrial electrical systems and control panels.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safety standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CSA, IEC, CE).
- Proven ability to support manufacturing builds and troubleshoot electrical/control issues in production or field environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC/HMI systems (e.g., Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Siemens, B&R) and industrial networks.
- Experience with motor control, VFDs, pumps, motors, and industrial instrumentation troubleshooting.
- Experience working within a document-controlled manufacturing environment using ERP systems like SAP.
