Principal Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority on power distribution, power protection, and switchgear design (low and medium voltage)
• Lead high-level system architecture for modular data centers and power distribution centers
• Act as the final decision-maker on complex code interpretations (NEC, UL, IEEE)
• Oversee critical power system studies including Short Circuit, Coordination, Arc Flash, and Load Flow analysis
• Design and validate complex protection schemes and configure protective relays
• Conduct deep-dive technical reviews of engineering designs
• Mentor Staff and Senior Electrical Engineers
• Develop and maintain electrical design standards and specifications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
• 10–15+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering
• Deep expertise in switchgear design and modular infrastructure
• Mastery of power protection theory, relay coordination, and arc flash mitigation
• Proven ability to lead technical teams through complex engineering challenges
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (strongly preferred)
• Master’s degree in Power Systems (strongly preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience representing organizations on technical committees (IEEE, NFPA, UL)
• Proficiency with EPlan or AutoCAD Electrical
• Experience with PLC/SCADA integration for power automation
