About the role

Responsibilities

  • Partner with line supervision to ensure regulatory compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and adherence to company standard practices.
  • Support the administration of the EH&S Council, including interfacing with subcommittees and tracking projects to completion.
  • Act as Program Manager for key Health and Safety programs, including Contractor Safety Management, Elevated Work, and Emergency Response.
  • Coordinate and conduct specialized Health and Safety audits and inspections to monitor performance and develop corrective action plans.
  • Respond to onsite medical incidents and serve as a spill responder on a rotating schedule.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate EH&S programs into overall business operations and participate in pollution prevention initiatives.
  • Provide EH&S training and assist management in the immediate correction of unsafe conditions or practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years of EH&S regulatory compliance experience, OR an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of EH&S regulatory and management systems.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a union manufacturing environment.
  • Background in manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Experience developing and implementing industry-leading Safety and Health Programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies such as CORE, Six Sigma, or LEAN.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, HPE, or CHMM.
  • Mentoring and training experience.
