Principal EE System Architect - Automotive

Responsibilities

• Use E/E architecture systems engineering tools to analyze architecture trade-offs, including network topologies, functional safety, communication latencies, and power management.
• Define and assess Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) automotive software architectures and evaluate trade-offs regarding computation power, centralization, and middleware.
• Influence the definition of new NXP products, such as processors, power management, and communication interfaces, based on early E/E architecture insights.
• Engage with OEMs to define Proof of Concept (POC) studies that demonstrate the benefits of NXP products within real vehicle networks.
• Collaborate with architecture and simulation tool vendors to streamline the transition from simulation to NXP hardware products.
• Build strong technical relationships with OEMs to position NXP as a trusted partner for automotive hardware and software solutions.
• Partner with NXP technical and commercial teams to define and implement overall solution positioning and associated collateral.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in E/E architecture definition and development.
• Proficiency with tools used in early E/E architecture definition, including an understanding of OEM trade-offs and performance metrics.
• 8+ years of experience within the automotive market.
• Proven history of engagement with automotive Tier 1 suppliers and/or OEMs.
• Experience with software and system solutions that enable the evolution of car architecture.
• Strong business and technical acumen with a high degree of customer focus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills.
