Principal Drainage Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design all aspects of drainage for highways, rail, and urban development projects
• Prepare DMRB design reports and technical specifications for stormwater drainage
• Manage day-to-day projects, including concept studies, detailed designs, and construction drawings
• Perform flood risk assessments and develop surface water drainage strategies
• Liaise with UK offices to assist in fee proposals and project financial control
• Mentor and manage early-career professionals to ensure technical excellence
• Ensure all projects meet QA, CDM, sustainability, and HSE requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years of professional engineering experience
• Strong academic background in Engineering
• Proven experience working within a UK-based consultancy
• Proficiency in InfoDrainage and MicroDrainage (or Causeway Flow)
• Deep understanding of hydraulic and hydrological principles
• Expertise in executing high-quality SuDS designs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with aviation drainage projects
• Ability to analyze complex technical design problems and propose innovative solutions
