About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and documentation of digital electronics circuit card assemblies (CCAs), including FPGAs, embedded processors, and high-speed interfaces.
- Drive requirements decomposition and lead trade studies to define architectures at the circuit card or sub-system level.
- Partner with ECAD drafters on stack-up definition, signal/power integrity (SI/PI) simulations, and PCB layout activities.
- Plan and execute integration and verification activities within engineering laboratories.
- Provide technical leadership by coaching junior engineers, managing project risks, and leading medium-sized teams.
- Support root cause failure investigations and provide troubleshooting for product testing.
Requirements
- STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant hardware design experience.
- Significant experience interfacing with complex embedded devices such as microprocessors, FPGAs, and high-speed transceivers.
- Expertise in schematic capture and circuit board layout CAD packages.
- Proficiency with standard laboratory equipment for hardware integration and verification.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.
- Experience with Siemens Xpedition (xDX Designer, xPCB Layout, or Hyperlynx).
- Knowledge of high-speed protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART.
- Experience designing complex, multi-lamination circuit card assemblies (16–32 layers).
- Experience with FPGA code development or software.
- Proven ability to manage technical, cost, and schedule risks using tools like Earned Value or Agile.
