Principal Development Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and fabricate test hardware, test stands, and test systems
• Execute development tests for structures, components, and materials
• Lead satellite subsystem test campaigns from kickoff through test report
• Drive hands-on hardware development testing and data reduction
• Steer development of data acquisition, control, and instrumentation systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish requirements and schedules
• Mentor early-career engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or relevant engineering discipline
• 8+ years of industry experience in mechanical, structural, or electromechanical test, design, and analysis
• Experience designing and testing mechanical assemblies for aerospace or terrestrial applications
• Experience with CAD or FEA software packages
• Hands-on fabrication experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data acquisition, controls, and dedicated test equipment
• Practical application of GD&T
• Experience with NX (Unigraphics) and Teamcenter PLM
• Experience with structural analysis (Simcenter 3D, Femap, or Hypermesh)
• Programming abilities in Python, MATLAB, Simulink, C++, R, or LabVIEW
• Understanding of structural analysis and failure modes in space environments
