Principal Developer, AI/ML

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of cloud-native Agentic AI applications that are resilient, performant, and scalable.
• Fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy large language models in production environments, balancing performance and cost.
• Establish evaluation and observability standards, including regression tests, monitoring, and feedback loops.
• Design frameworks and tools to enable other teams to develop AI-powered experiences.
• Partner with product managers, architects, and data scientists to integrate AI features into Autodesk products.
• Utilize AI coding agents to accelerate the delivery of production features while maintaining rigorous verification and security.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience building cloud-native software in production (distributed systems, APIs, data-intensive services).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience delivering AI/ML-powered systems in production.
• Experience with LLM-based systems such as RAG, MCP, or Agent workflows.
• Experience with MCP or similar standardized patterns for connecting models to tools and context.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Java with strong engineering fundamentals.
• Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools to ship production systems with high engineering judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building AI applications in the CAD or manufacturing domain.
• Proven track record of deploying scalable cloud-native AI applications using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with deep learning architectures (e.g., Transformers) and frameworks like PyTorch, Lightning, or Ray.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and SageMaker for scalable training and deployment.
• Experience with emerging Agentic AI solutions such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar.
