Principal Designer - Health & Safety

Responsibilities

• Ensure clients are aware of their duties under CDM 2015
• Review existing H&S information and advise on additional surveys
• Manage stakeholder engagement
• Oversee the creation of the Design Risk Register
• Assist clients in identifying suitable project preconstruction information
• Compile the Pre-construction information pack
• Assure supplier appointment and advise on competency
• Supply H&S information to the Principal Contractor
• Liaise with the Principal Contractor throughout the construction phase
• Compile the Health and Safety File

Requirements

• NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ L6 in Health & Safety
• NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational H&S
• NEBOSH Fire Certificate
• Technical, Certified, or Chartered Member of IOSH
• APS Principal Designer qualification
• Extensive experience working on similar projects or programmes
• Proficiency in Design Risk Management
• Proficiency in implementing the Hierarchy of Controls to proposed designs
• Proficiency in managing H&S risk during the preconstruction stage
