Principal Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Modernize the Data Platform supporting Enterprise Risk, Audit, and Finance Technology by designing foundational data infrastructure for AI-driven workloads.
• Act as a strategic advisor to leadership to influence technology decisions across multiple business groups.
• Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex, large-scale technical challenges requiring innovation and advanced analytical thinking.
• Translate business objectives and strategic opportunities into technical engineering solutions.
• Drive the evolution of the platform into an AI-native, semantic data foundation with robust APIs and self-service capabilities.
• Maintain industry best practices and recommend innovations to provide a competitive advantage.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Engineering experience.
• 7+ years of experience architecting, designing, and leading the delivery of large-scale solutions.
• 4+ years of experience presenting technology strategy and concepts to C-level executives and large audiences.
• 2+ years of experience delivering cloud-ready and cloud-native solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry.
• 7+ years of experience with Java, Python, or PySpark full-stack development.
• 2+ years of experience with AI utilization and agentic development.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Open Table formats and Trino/Presto.
• Experience building agentic data platforms and implementing agent observability and audit trails.
