Principal Data Consultant

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver enterprise-level data solutions from discovery through prototyping and architectural design
• Work with Azure tools including Databricks, Data Factory, and Hadoop to create big data environments
• Utilize Microsoft Azure and SQL Data analytics stacks for various projects
• Satisfy requirements for both internal and external customers
• Support the development of team members and contribute to the Data & AI community

Requirements

• Expertise in creating complex SQL queries
• Experience with Microsoft BI Stack (SSRS, SSIS, or SSAS)
• Commercial experience with Power BI for data visualization
• Experience in architectural decision-making for data solutions
• Proficiency in at least two of: SQL, Python, Power BI/DAX, Data Modelling, or Azure Fundamentals
• Strategic and operational decision-making skills
• Ability to guide, direct, or influence people

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Databricks, Synapse Analytics, or Microsoft Fabric
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory and Azure DevOps (CI/CD, Terraform, Bicep)
• Familiarity with Azure AI Services, OpenAI, or Cognitive Services
• Databricks or Microsoft Azure certifications
• Experience with Data Science and Data Modelling
