Principal, Data & AI Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate a secure, on-premise analytics and AI platform that unifies transactional data into Snowflake
• Implement private, self-hosted LLM architectures and secure inference pipelines for reporting automation and operational insights
• Build and optimize ELT/ETL workflows, data models, and schemas in Snowflake
• Develop ML pipelines for feature engineering, training, validation, and inference
• Expose secure APIs and services to integrate AI capabilities with existing Java/Spring Boot-based applications
• Enforce strict data security, encryption, and governance to ensure sensitive FinTech data remains within approved infrastructure

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, data platforms, or analytics engineering
• Strong expertise in SQL, specifically with Snowflake and PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and optimization
• Hands-on experience with machine learning pipelines and LLMs in private or on-prem environments
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, analytics, and ML workflows
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of data security, encryption, and access controls within regulated environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing enterprise analytics platforms that enable governed, self-service reporting
• Hands-on experience implementing AI-driven operational automation such as automated insights or anomaly detection
• Familiarity with Snowflake cost management, clustering strategies, or secure data sharing
• Prior experience in FinTech, payments, or transaction-heavy data domains
